Certified Nurse Aide
This state-approved program leads to a position in
a hospital or nursing home working with a nurse. The professional
relationship allows you to be part of the nursing team.
You will cover the theory and nursing skills necessary
to prepare for and pass the State Board Examination. The exam is
given at ABC.
An exciting thirty-hour internship in one of New
York's leading nursing homes is an integral part of this program.
The hands-on experience that you gain provides you with the real
experience that nursing homes look for when they hire new staff.
Nurse Technician
Nurse Technician is a combination of the Certified
Nurse Aide, EKG and Phlebotomy programs. Ask about the advantages
of enrolling for all three at the same time.
Graduating C.N.A.'S return to ABC to take the EKG and Phlebotomy
courses in order to qualify as nurse technicians. Some hospitals
and clinics call this position Nurse Assistant.
At the completion of the program, the students are
provided with a one-day review and testing for national certification
by the National Health Career Association. The review and exam are
given at ABC.
EKG/Phlebotomy
These specialized skills of measuring heart rate
and taking blood and other laboratory tests are necessary for personal
and professional growth in the Health field. Taken after the certified
Nurses Aide program, they prepare a graduate to become a nurse technician
and move up to a position of greater responsibility. |
